Will window shutters help with Insulation?
In the winter, if your shutters are closed and your louvres down this will provide an additional air pocket for insulation between the window and the wooden shutter. so this will help to keep heat in and hopefully reduce the heating bills. Our shutters are a bespoke fit to each window, meaning there will be no gaps for the heat to escape or draft to penetrate.
This is also similar in the summer, if for example your shutters are shut and louvres down during a hot summers day, this would stop the sun penetrating the windows and help to keep the house cool during the day, making it more comfortable in the evening.
Will window shutters reduce noise?
Our bespoke, custom fitted shutters are installed tightly into the window reveals, this will create an air pocket that will absorb some noise for your interiors. Our shutters are not noise cancelling, but the quality of our product will certainly help to reduce outside noise drastically, resulting in a far more relaxed and comfortable evening in your home.
What is the best material for window shutters?
We use two different materials for our shutters, Hardwood and PVC. Our hardwood shutters are extremely versatile, well constructed and long lasting with an incredible finish. The wood is lightweight yet strong. we recommend these for most rooms in the household.
Our PVC shutters are also a very versatile product, they are waterproof and can withstand high levels humidity, so for this we recommend they are used in wetrooms, bathrooms and maybe kitchens depending on preference.
How to maintain my window shutters?
Window shutters require minimal maintenance, once fitted it is simple to keep them looking as good as the day they were installed. All you need to do is keep your shutters clean by rubbing them down with a clean cloth, or hoover them with a soft brush attachment to keep the dust from settling on the louvres.

Are shutters blackout?
Shutters offer a great level of light elimination for customers homes, but they are not total black out. Should you require this we can offer an integrated black out system where a pleated black out blind is rebated subtly into the shutter frame this will provide a total blackout solution.
